Digi EX60 as a Managed Service: Branch Wireless WAN, Delivered by Subscription

Digi EX60 as a Managed Service: Branch Wireless WAN, Delivered by Subscription

One subscription covers your router, connectivity, monitoring and support, so your branches get online faster and stay online.

Every branch needs a connection that works. Far fewer organizations want to buy routers, negotiate carrier plans, stage devices, and staff a support desk to keep that connection alive across dozens or hundreds of sites. The Digi Ventus Managed Connectivity Program (MCP) takes that work off your plate. It delivers a complete wireless WAN service: hardware, connectivity, lifecycle management, monitoring and support in one predictable subscription.

At the center of the service is the Digi EX60, Digi's flagship 5G enterprise router. It puts 5G, tri band dual-concurrent Wi-Fi 7, dual SIM slots plus an embedded eSIM, and Ethernet ports into one compact box, so a branch does not need a separate router, access point and switch. EX60 launches in North America in October 2026.

What Your Subscription Includes

  • Pre-staged hardware. Devices arrive ready for zero-touch installation and ship in about three business days, one unit at a time. Nobody has to stage, configure and box routers before they go out. Installation comes down to mounting, powering and connecting.
  • Connectivity. SIMs and data plans are part of the service, so you are not negotiating carrier contracts site by site.
  • Lifecycle management. Hardware, service and security stay current over the term, and predictable billing funds refreshes as technology changes.
  • Monitoring and reporting. Digi Ventus Genesis provides real-time monitoring, alerts and reporting across every device and site.
  • Support. Support runs 24x7x365, with Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation behind every site.
  • Predictable cost. A subscription with a three year term replaces a large upfront hardware purchase and a stack of separate warranty, support and software contracts.

How EX60 Keeps Your Branches Connected

Two capabilities work together to keep a site online: Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) for carrier level failover and Digi SureLink for connection assurance.

DSDS. Most routers with one modem and two SIMs switch carriers the slow way: drop the first network, register on the second, bring the connection back up. That can take a minute or two and is blind to the other carrier before switching over and doesn’t know when to switch back. With DSDS, both SIMs stay registered, so the second carrier is already live when the first degrades and the switch takes seconds, up to ten times faster than a conventional single modem SIM swap. Because both carriers are watched continuously, a weakening carrier can show up as an alert before it becomes an outage.

SureLink. SureLink covers a different failure: the connection that looks up but is not passing traffic. It runs active checks (ping, TCP connection and DNS lookup tests) at intervals you configure, and it reacts to hard failures such as an unplugged cable or a dropped interface without waiting for a probe. When a check fails, recovery escalates from least to most disruptive: shift traffic to a secondary path, restart the interface, reset the modem and, as a last resort, reboot the device. SureLink is part of DAL OS (Digi Accelerated Linux), so there is no separate license to buy.

In a managed service, that means most problems are handled at the router before anyone has to notice them, and an alert records what happened.

How Genesis Keeps You Informed

Genesis is the real-time monitoring platform behind Digi Ventus. It watches every device and site around the clock and raises an alert when something needs attention, including when SureLink has taken a recovery action or DSDS has flagged a weakening carrier. It also provides reporting across your sites, so you can see how your network is performing over time. Genesis shows what happened and raises the alert, so the right people can decide how to act on it. Problems reach you as an alert, not as a phone call from a closed store.

Who It's For

Small and midsize businesses: a full featured, one-box, multi-carrier primary connection. For retail stores, quick service restaurants, clinics and small offices, EX60 can be the entire network. A wired circuit is not required, so pop-up and seasonal locations can go live on 5G right away. The tri- band dual-concurrent Wi-Fi 7 radio replaces a separate access point, four Gigabit Ethernet ports serve registers, kiosks and cameras, and separate virtual networks keep staff and point of sale traffic apart from guest Wi-Fi. Two SIM slots plus an eSIM give the site multi-carrier resilience, and DSDS and SureLink keep it running. The rest is handled for you.

Enterprises: primary or failover wireless WAN across many sites. EX60 can serve as a 5G primary with wired backup, a wired primary with 5G backup, or a failover layer behind an existing firewall, so each location can use the role that fits it. A multi site organization gets one hardware standard, one firmware track and one management model through Genesis across hundreds of locations, and a rollout does not have to wait for a wired install at every site.

Who Does What

Digi Ventus managed connectivity is delivered through Digi Ventus channel partners, such as managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs). Each has a distinct role.

Your channel partner is your point of contact. Your MSP or VAR provides the subscription, works with you on rollout, watches your sites through Genesis, and responds when something needs attention. It can bring its own SIMs and carrier relationships, or have Digi Ventus supply SIMs and pooled data plans.

Digi designs and builds the EX60 hardware, the DAL OS software that runs it, and the Genesis platform your channel partner uses to monitor and manage your sites. Digi's Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams stand behind your channel partner at every site.
